Overview

You will report to the Bereavement services team leader, and we are a small friendly team operating within the public sector providing a catering facility to bereaved families and the general public.

We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to become part of the Bereavement services catering team in the day to day running of the facility on site at the Cemetery and Crematorium.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and serving food and drink.
  • Taking bookings from funeral directors and the general public in person and by phone.
  • Attention to detail is essential as this is a key role in ensuring all food is presented to a high standard.
  • You will be dealing with the bereaved in often stressful circumstances; it is therefore essential that you have a high level of empathy and good communication and customer care skills.

Hours

Hours may vary between 9:00am – 7:00pm, Monday – Friday.

Requirements

  • It is a legal requirement, under the Immigration Act 2016, that anyone appointed to a \”customer facing role\” must be able to demonstrate an ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in fluent English.

Location and office

Our main office, based in the Eastgate Centre on Eastgate Street in the heart of the city, is an accessible, modern and light space designed for collaborative working. It is open plan, with a living green wall and other plants. We are flexible and agile in our approach to work to support a good work-life balance.
