As a Force Control Room (FCR) CCTV Operator, you will be responsible for pro-actively monitoring CCTV cameras across the county, along with reacting to incidents reported, in order to help keep the public safe from harm and detect crime. You will be required to direct officers to incidents viewable on CCTV, and to identify and report any suspicious or concerning behaviour that you may witness. You will be responsible for downloading and producing CCTV as evidence, and you may be required to attend court when necessary.
You will be required to use a variety of computer systems, including communicating via airwave. You will be responsible for reporting any faults with the equipment and maintaining a CCTV activity log each day. You will need to be comfortable working both alone and as part of a team.
Successful candidates will be required to undertake an eye test either conducted by our Occupational Health team or production of a recent ophthalmologists assessment (including a colour vision report) will be required. The working hours for this role will average 37 hours per week (full time). This post is required to work a shift pattern (6 on, 4 off), covering earlies, lates and nights, which includes weekends and Bank Holidays and attracts a 34.59% shift allowance. The role will be based at GTEC, Waterwells, and will report to a Force Control Room Supervisor.
The successful candidate for this role will be vetted at level Staff RV. This means the individual will need at least 3 years worth of residency in the UK.
