Digital evidence tells stories. It captures truth, helps victims and supports justice. If you thrive at the intersection of technology, investigation and leadership, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact. We are seeking a Digital Multimedia Evidence Supervisor to lead our Video and Imaging team. In this position, you won’t simply manage digital files - you will shape how crucial visual evidence is captured, analysed and presented across Gloucestershire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Every day, our officers rely on digital imagery to understand what happened, who was involved and how to move an investigation forward.
  • Support high‑profile court cases, major incidents or day‑to‑day policing, directly influencing outcomes that matter.
  • Guide and develop a skilled group of Video and Imaging practitioners, championing professional development, wellbeing and technical excellence.
  • Drive digital forensic excellence across the unit, overseeing the acquisition, processing and analysis of CCTV, mobile footage and a wide range of other multimedia sources.
  • Uphold the highest forensic quality standards as the team’s Technical Manager under ISO 17025.
  • Use specialist software and hardware such as Adobe Creative Suite, Amped FIVE, Camtasia, DVR Examiner and numerous proprietary CCTV systems.
  • Create compelling visual material that helps investigators, legal professionals and courts clearly understand what happened.
  • Regular attendance at locations across the county to recover footage directly from embedded CCTV systems.
  • Handle challenging environments, such as working at height or within confined spaces.

Qualifications

  • Experience or qualifications in digital multimedia, digital forensics or a closely related field, alongside relevant certifications.
  • Strong understanding of CCTV systems, digital imagery, codecs and video processing.
  • Knowledge of evidential standards, FSR Code of Practice, GDPR and MOPI.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts simply and confidently.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Comfortable handling sensitive or distressing material when required.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel across the county.

Benefits

This is far more than a technical position – it is public service in one of its most modern forms. The work you do will help victims find answers, assist investigators in uncovering the truth, enable courts to see evidence more clearly and ultimately help the public feel safer. You will join a team that values innovation, integrity, technical excellence, continuous learning and genuine collaboration. As digital evidence continues to grow as one of the most critical areas of modern policing, your expertise will play a key role in shaping how Gloucestershire Constabulary evolves in this rapidly developing field.
