Location: Hewmar House, London Road, Gloucester. This role is 37 hours per week on a 7-day rota, which includes regular weekends. The role does not include any night shifts. Shifts occur within the hours of 07:45 – 22:00 (7.24 hours per shift).
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one, intensive, person-centred support to young people living in Hewmar House.
- Develop and monitor individual support plans, track progress, and report outcomes.
- Utilise trauma-informed practices to support clients, challenge biases, and promote inclusion.
- Use a range of tools and techniques to deliver flexible support that builds confidence and independence.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and ensure safeguarding and risk assessments are in place.
Qualifications and essential experience:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People).
- Level 4 Certificate in Working with Children, Individuals and Families & a certificate in Counselling.
- Proven experience of working with young people in a support environment and trauma-informed practices.
- Experience delivering an outcome-focused support plan framework.
- Experience solving problems and making informed decisions.
- Experience working with individuals with complex and chaotic lifestyles to deliver positive outcomes.
- Knowledge of Housing Law and its application in social housing; up-to-date knowledge of homeless legislation and best practice.
- Clear understanding of safeguarding and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus.

This is not a physical/personal care role. The support provided focuses on addressing the impacts of trauma, increasing confidence and independence, and developing life and tenancy management skills to enable move-on to independent accommodation.
