We are now seeking a Surveyor to support GCH's Planned Programme by overseeing the successful delivery of large scale, multi-year projects and contracts. You will manage individual contracts and programmes ensuring that our Assets are improved in accordance with agreed standards and meet all regulatory requirements, including Home England's Decent Homes Standards. You will lead on budgetary control, contract coordination, management and administration, ensuring services are delivered to customer satisfaction, agreed standards, required level of performance and achieve Value for Money.
You will operate as an expert for GCH on all property issues and investment decisions, providing technical building support and advice to the Capital Works Manager and Asset & Sustainability Manager. You will manage all day-to-day contract and/or commercial issues and disputes, ensuring they progress according to due process and are resolved with minimum impact.
We'd like you to:
- Hold a relevant technical qualification e.g. Member of CIOB or intermediate grade RICS or Member of Chartered Institute of Housing.
- Have substantial experience as a Surveyor of Asset Management, Property Investment and Public Procurement.
- Have a proven track record of managing £1m+ planned improvement project resources, budgets and contracts with the ability to identify and eliminate risks, ensuring Value for Money and the delivery of high-quality services.
- Be able to make sound financial judgements.
- Be comfortable managing complex projects, working within tight deadlines and budget, whilst promoting stakeholder involvement at all levels.
- Be able to understand and present technical information clearly, communicating matters related to asset management to a varied audience.
- You must hold a valid driving licence and have the use of your own car to be able to travel within the city and other areas as required.
