About the Role
As a Visitor Experience Assistant you will be the first face visitors and residents meet when they enter the Museum of Gloucester, playing a key role in delivering a warm, memorable experience and in telling the story of Gloucester through exhibitions and engagement activities.
Responsibilities
- Utilise strong interpersonal skills to offer outstanding customer service throughout the visit.
- Maintain a clean, presentable museum environment, assisting with daily upkeep and appearance.
- Stock and manage the gift shop and café, ensuring stock levels and displays meet visitor expectations.
- Assist with events and hire in the Wheatstone Hall, including setting up space, supporting event run, and completing post‑event resets.
- Apply and uphold health and safety procedures, including fire warden duties and first aid responsibilities.
- Successfully complete Evac Chair Operator Training, required during probation.
- Work predominantly on Saturday day‑times, with flexibility required to support the museum’s operating schedule.
- Demonstrate the ability to speak fluent English, fulfilling all spoken aspects of this customer‑facing role.
