We are seeking an experienced
Senior Technical Lead – Apigee to drive the design, implementation, and migration of enterprise‑scale API management platforms. This role will be responsible for leading the delivery of
Apigee Hybrid and Apigee X solutions , supporting complex API transformation programs, and guiding organizations through the migration of legacy
Apigee Edge environments.

The successful candidate will act as a senior technical authority, working closely with clients, architects, developers, and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high‑performing API ecosystems.
This is a highly visible, client‑facing position requiring both deep technical expertise and strong leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end deployment, configuration, and optimization of
Apigee Hybrid and Apigee X environments.
- Manage and deliver
Apigee Edge to Apigee Hybrid/X migration projects , including discovery, assessment, planning, execution, testing, and post‑migration support.
- Define API management strategies, governance frameworks, and best practices across enterprise environments.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development, integration, and platform engineering teams.
- Design and implement scalable API architectures supporting high‑volume, mission‑critical applications.
- Conduct architecture reviews and technical assessments to identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate client workshops, solution design sessions, technical reviews, and stakeholder presentations.
- Collaborate with cloud, security, Dev Ops, and application teams to ensure successful platform integration and deployment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex API gateway, networking, security, and performance‑related issues.
- Implement and enforce security standards including authentication, authorization, encryption, and API protection policies.
- Drive performance tuning, monitoring, scalability planning, and operational excellence across API platforms.
- Support CI/CD implementation and automation initiatives to improve deployment efficiency and platform reliability.
- Produce and maintain technical architecture documentation, migration plans, operational procedures, and governance standards.
- Stay current with emerging API management technologies and provide strategic recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in
API Management, Integration, Middleware, or Enterprise Architecture environments.
- Hands‑on experience with
Apigee Edge, Apigee Hybrid, and/or Apigee X implementations.
- Proven track record delivering large‑scale
Apigee migration projects from assessment through production deployment.
- Strong understanding of API design, lifecycle management, governance, and developer enablement.
- Deep knowledge of RESTful APIs, API proxy development, traffic management, and policy configuration.
- Experience with authentication and security standards including
OAuth 2.0, Open ID Connect (OIDC), JWT, SAML, and API security best practices .
- Strong knowledge of
Open API/Swagger specifications and API documentation standards.
- Experience working within
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies including
Kubernetes and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) .
- Experience with CI/CD tools and Dev Ops practices supporting automated deployments.
- Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills within complex distributed systems.
- Excellent stakeholder management and client‑facing communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience guiding technical teams and delivering enterprise transformation initiatives.
