About The Job
We have an exciting opportunity for an Underwriter to join our fantastic team. The position is permanent, full time and based in London with the ability to work from home. The purpose of the role is to support the team and ensure timely and efficient processing of terms and policies. We are looking for someone who is organised, skilled in building and maintaining relationships with colleagues, insurers and external agencies. This role would suit an individual who is already underwriting and is part of an experienced underwriting team.
Qualifications
- Previous Insurance Experience Essential – Min 5 Years
- Hold the Certificate in Insurance (or willing to work towards it)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build good relationships
- Great organisational skills and ability to prioritise
- A desire to learn and develop professionally
- Good computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
Responsibilities
- Process new business, renewals and any adjustments complying with agreed procedures
- Prepare and issue documentation complying with regulatory requirements
- Assist in completing bordereau spreadsheet reports
- Accurately record, monitor, and follow up quote & renewal data
- Respond to queries from Brokers in a timely and professional manner
- Discuss and prepare new business submissions for Brokers as required
- Develop relationships with Brokers to ensure best possible service levels and successful outcomes
- Provide regular management information and statistics to the team
- Handle general administration duties
- Undertake any other responsibilities which may become necessary for the proper performance of the role
