We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our finance team on an initial 6 month contract.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Be responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
- Manage weekly and month-end reconciliations (bank, expenses, accruals/prepayments), and financial controls.
- Processing weekly EPOS data and reconciliations.
- Monitor and track expenses and departmental budgets, flagging variances and supporting cost control.
- Analyse and explain production variances, including material usage, labour, overhead absorption, scrap and efficiency.
- Prepare and monitor weekly cash flow reporting and provide narrative on movements.
- Process monthly payroll journals and reconcile payroll-related control accounts.
- Help optimise and improve financial systems, processes and reporting tools as we scale (including automation where possible).
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support commercial decisions and operational planning.
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant.
- Hands-on experience with accounting and ERP software systems.
- Knowledge of Sage 50 would be advantageous.
- Manufacturing sector experience (stock, WIP).
- High attention to detail with a naturally analytical mindset.
- Confident communicator who works well across teams.
