Speech and Language Job Description
- Speciality -Speech & Language Therapist- Acute Inpatients & Stroke
- Location -South West London
- Start date -November 2026
- Contract Length -3 months
- Pay Rates -£26-£32 per hour, depending on experience
- Setting: Acute inpatient wards, including stroke
- Globe Locums is recruiting a Speech & Language Therapist for an acute inpatient role in South West London, supporting adults with communication and swallowing difficulties, including patients following a stroke.
The role
- Assess and manage adults with dysphagia and communication difficulties.
- Develop individualised therapy plans and support rehabilitation following stroke.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support patient care and discharge planning.
- Provide advice to patients, families and ward staff on swallowing safety and communication strategies.
Requirements
- 1 year(s) post graduate experience
- Valid Passport/Visa
- Fully compliant and cleared to work
- DBS or Police CheckHCPC Registered
- HCPC registration as a Speech & Language Therapist.
- Relevant adult acute inpatient and stroke experience.
- Competence in independently assessing and managing dysphagia.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning and organisational skills.
