Physiotherapy Job Description

- Are you an experienced and motivated Physiotherapist available for an agency opportunity? An opportunity has arisen to join the AHP team within the Orthopaedic Unit at the National Treatment Centre - Highland (NTC-H), Inverness, supporting the delivery of a busy elective orthopaedic service.
- NTC-H is a 24-bedded unit situated at the city's University Campus, providing elective inpatient orthopaedic and ophthalmology services seven days a week.
- The successful applicant will work as part of the AHP team to deliver pre- and post-operative assessment, early mobilisation, functional rehabilitation and discharge planning for elective orthopaedic patients. The service manages a varied caseload, including patients undergoing joint replacement and other elective orthopaedic procedures.
- This is a seven-day service, and the post holder must be available to participate in weekend working on a rota basis. The AHP team operates a shared-skill-set model across Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, with support and training provided to develop the competencies required for this way of working.
- Applicants must demonstrate strong clinical assessment and reasoning skills, with experience in the management and rehabilitation of orthopaedic patients. Postgraduate orthopaedic experience is desirable. The ability to work autonomously, prioritise a busy caseload and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team is essential.
- The post holder will be supported by the AHP leads and will contribute to the effective running of the service, supporting timely rehabilitation, safe discharge and patient flow. There may also be opportunities to contribute to clinical audit, data collection and service development.
- This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist seeking an agency assignment within a busy elective orthopaedic setting, with the support of an established AHP team.
