Biomedical Scientist Job Description
- Speciality -Laboratory Specialist
- Location -Guildford
- Start date - ASAP
- Contract Length -Permanent
- Pay Rate -£26,000 per annum
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Genetics or a related field
- Sample reception and registration
- Record keeping and quality control
- Preparation of kits for in-house tests
- DNA extraction from various biological materials (blood, buccal cells, saliva)
- Inventory management and procurement of reagents and consumables
- Preparation of SAT (Sperm Aneuploidy Test) samples
- Performing PCR and minisequencing (wet lab)
- Performing Karyomapping (wet lab)
- To support the development and application of molecular and molecular cytogenetic protocols for Preimplantation Genetic Testing, including
- PGT-A (for Aneuploidy)
- PGT-SR (for Structural Rearrangements)
- PGT-M (for Monogenic Disorders)
Requirements
- 1 year(s) post graduate experience
- Valid Passport/Visa
- Fully compliant and cleared to work
- DBS or Police Check
- HCPC Registered
