Speech and Language Job Description

• Speciality -Speech & Language Therapist
• Location -South East London - exact community base to be confirmed
• Start date -ASAP
• Contract Length -Ongoing
• Pay Rates -£25-30 per hour, depending on experience
• We are seeking a Band 6/7 Speech and Language Therapist to support an adult community service.
• This role would suit an SLT with experience assessing and managing adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties, delivering person-centred care in community settings.

Key responsibilities:

• Assess and manage communication and swallowing difficulties, including dysphagia.
• Develop individual treatment plans and support patients to achieve functional goals.
• Provide advice, education and practical strategies to patients, families and carers.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to care planning and risk management.
• At Band 7 level, provide clinical guidance and support to junior colleagues as required.

Requirements

• 1 year(s) post graduate experience
• Valid Passport/Visa
• Fully compliant and cleared to work
• DBS or Police Check
• HCPC Registered
• Recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification and HCPC registration.
• Relevant postgraduate experience within adult SLT services.
• Dysphagia competency and experience managing acquired communication difficulties.
• Strong clinical reasoning, organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a community caseload independently and work effectively within an MDT.
