Globe 24-7 in partnership with a key client, one of the world's leading precious metals consultancies that specializes in research, are working together to source experienced and qualified talent for their office to produce regular reports, forecasts, proprietary data and others.
The Responsibilities
- Work within the mining team helping with the collection and production of mining and hedging research on the gold, silver and PGM markets.
- Perform analysis and interpretation of data to produce written research on the precious metals markets.
- Undertake client meetings, site visits and industry events/conferences as required. This could be as an individual, part of a larger research team or with our sales staff and will involve overseas travel.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with key industry contacts.
- Present to clients and at industry events.
- Assist in the production of our written reports. This will involve managing the timely delivery of sections of these publications.
The Requirements
- Degree level education; in Earth Science, Geology, Mine Engineering or Mineral Processing.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in a mining analyst, or mineral economist, role.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong logical thinking and attention to detail.
- Experience in mine costs analysis would be an advantage.
- Proficient user of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent standard of written and spoken English.
- Ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team.
- Ability to set up, manage and take responsibility for delivering projects to strict deadlines.
- Confident at presenting, networking and speaking; with an ability to communicate ideas and arguments in a positive and effective manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to develop and maintain relationships with a network of industry contacts.
- Ability to travel internationally.
- A quick learner who directs energies and efforts to taking action and getting things done.
- Ability to develop new methods of working and introduce new ideas.
- Fluency in other languages is a plus; preferably Spanish but not a requirement.
- A strong understanding of global commodity and financial markets.
- Equity research experience within the resource sector desirable although not essential.
- An understanding of financial modelling.
- A working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator.
