The Company
Globe 24-7, in partnership with a key client in the Middle East, is working together to source experienced and qualified talent to join their team.
The Role
The incumbent will support an international energy and trading platform, advising on LNG and oil transactions, energy commodity trading, and corporate M&A matters, including legal due diligence. The role will involve advising across upstream, midstream, and downstream LNG and oil activities, supporting acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic investments, and working closely with commercial, finance, risk, and senior management teams on complex cross-border legal and regulatory matters.
The Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating LNG Sale and Purchase Agreements (SPAs), oil offtake agreements, and Floating Storage Unit (FLNG) agreements
- Handling Master Sales Agreements (MSAs) and agreements related to transportation, shipping, storage, and terminal use
- Supporting upstream, midstream, and downstream energy transactions
- Advising on regulatory and compliance matters pertinent to energy trading
- Facilitating acquisitions, divestments, and asset purchases
- Structuring joint ventures and strategic partnerships
- Conducting and managing legal due diligence for both buy-side and sell-side transactions
- Advising on regulatory frameworks relevant to the energy sector across various jurisdictions
- Addressing sanctions, compliance, and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements for energy and M&A transactions
- Assessing legal risks and structuring transactions accordingly
The Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in energy, natural resources, or commodities, with exposure to LNG and oil
- Strong transactional experience across energy, corporate M&A, and legal due diligence
- Experience advising on cross-border legal and regulatory matters
- Proven ability to partner with commercial, finance, risk, and senior leadership teams
