Senior Authorised Person (SAP) - High Voltage Operations & Projects in Skipton

On behalf of our client, a well-established and rapidly growing infrastructure and utilities organisation; Globalreach Integrated Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to support the delivery of major electrical power and network infrastructure projects across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled SAP to take a leading role in ensuring the safe operation, maintenance, and management of high-voltage electrical systems. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, oversee complex switching operations, and contribute to the successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects while promoting the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

As a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) – Electric Network, you will be responsible for:

• Lead and undertake high-voltage switching operations in accordance with industry regulations, safety rules, and operational procedures.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage network access, outages, and switching programmes to support project execution.
• Authorise and supervise work on HV electrical systems, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and legislation.
• Provide technical guidance and support to engineering, operations, and project delivery teams.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults, defects, and network-related issues.
• Review and approve operational procedures, permits, and safety documentation prior to commencement of work.
• Drive a strong health and safety culture through coaching, auditing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements:

• Current or previously held Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status within a utility, DNO, IDNO, ICP, transmission, or related environment.
• Extensive experience working with high-voltage electrical systems and network operations.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety regulations, switching procedures, and industry best practices.
• Proven experience planning and carrying out switching operations involving substations, transformers, switchgear, and associated HV equipment.
• Strong fault-finding, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant electrical engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• HV Authorised Person, HV Switching, or comparable industry authorisations.
• Valid UK Driver's Licence.

Desirable:

• Experience within transmission, distribution, or large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
• Exposure to commissioning, energisation, and network integration activities.
• Experience working across multiple network operators and safety rule frameworks.
• Previous involvement in mentoring or developing operational and authorised personnel.
• Knowledge of National Grid, DNO, or ICP operational procedures.
