About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading engineering and infrastructure organisation, is seeking an experienced EICA Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering innovative water and wastewater projects across the UK and internationally.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with expertise in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) systems to contribute to the successful delivery of complex treatment, pumping, and infrastructure projects within a fast-paced Design & Build environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing practical, safe, and efficient engineering solutions from concept design through to construction and commissioning support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver EICA design solutions for water and wastewater treatment projects.
  • Produce and review engineering calculations, technical specifications, drawings, schedules, and reports.
  • Support projects through all stages, from concept and feasibility to detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOP workshops, safety assessments, and technical meetings.
  • Assess existing treatment and pumping infrastructure and develop effective EICA solutions.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, WIMES specifications, CDM Regulations, and project requirements.
  • Promote safe design practices, including design risk assessments and engineering governance processes.
  • Support technical problem-solving throughout project delivery.

Minimum Requirements

Essential

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working on water and/or wastewater engineering projects within the UK.
  • Strong understanding of EICA systems, industrial controls, and automation technologies.
  • Experience producing technical design documentation and engineering deliverables.
  • Knowledge of UK water industry standards, codes, and WIMES specifications.
  • Previous experience within Design & Build, contractor-led, or multidisciplinary engineering environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable

  • Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status or working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) accreditation through the IET or equivalent professional body.
  • Experience supporting tenders, bids, and pre-construction engineering activities.
  • Knowledge of HAZOPs, ALMs, and formal design safety review processes.
  • Experience working closely with contractors, equipment suppliers, and commissioning teams.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems, PLC programming, telemetry, and industrial automation technologies.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits, inspections, and client meetings.
