Design Project Manager - Infrastructure Projects in Skipton

Our client, a leading infrastructure and engineering organisation, is seeking an experienced Design Project Manager to lead and coordinate design delivery across a portfolio of complex infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically-minded project professional who enjoys working at the centre of project delivery, managing multidisciplinary design teams, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality design solutions are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project objectives.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving design programmes from concept through to construction, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.

• Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of design activities across multiple infrastructure projects.
• Manage design programmes, deliverables, interfaces, and key project milestones.
• Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, supply chain partners, and internal teams.
• Ensure design outputs support safe, buildable, compliant, and cost-effective project delivery.
• Monitor design progress and proactively manage risks, change control, and project interfaces.
• Facilitate multidisciplinary design reviews and stakeholder meetings.
• Provide clear reporting and updates to project leadership teams.
• Support project governance, quality assurance, and compliance with statutory and industry requirements.
• Ensure designs align with CDM regulations and best practice design management principles.

Essential

• Degree qualification in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience within design engineering, design management, or multidisciplinary infrastructure project environments.
• Proven experience managing design delivery across complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and interfaces.
• Strong understanding of CDM 2015 roles, responsibilities, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent project planning, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Desirable

• Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng), or actively working toward professional accreditation.
• Experience within HV/MV power networks, substations, cable systems, utilities, or related infrastructure sectors.
• Knowledge of temporary works and construction delivery environments.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering design teams.
• Familiarity with infrastructure project delivery frameworks and governance processes.
