We are GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group Company and a leader in digital engineering. We help brands across the globe design and build innovative products, platforms, and digital experiences for the modern world. By integrating experience design, complex engineering, and data expertise, we help our clients imagine what’s possible and accelerate their transition into tomorrow’s digital businesses.

At GlobalLogic, we have a strong track record of successfully delivering ground-breaking Cloud, Data & Digital Transformation programmes and we have an international reach working with a wide variety of projects and customers. Our approach enables companies to “build the exceptional” and be fit for purpose in the 21st century.

We are seeking to hire experienced Platform Engineers with Developer capabilities into our Platform Engineering Practice to technically consult for our clients' solutions.

What is a "Pi-Shaped" Engineer to us? We aren't looking for rigid specialists. We need a Pi-Shaped Engineer - someone with deep, foundational roots in Software Development, but who has grown a second deep leg in Platform & DevOps Engineering, all unified by a broad cross-bar of testing, consulting, and client-facing mastery.

You’ll be joining as a hands-on technical powerhouse who can architect a platform, spin up a secure CI/CD pipeline, write clean code, and then confidently pivot to present the business value to a C-suite client.

About the role:

  • Consultative Delivery: Act as a trusted advisor to clients. You'll switch seamlessly between hands-on engineering, technical mentoring, and strategic value-add/pre-sales conversations.
  • Platform & Ecosystem Building: Design and scale internal developer platforms (IDPs). A major focus will be leveraging tools like Spotify Backstage to improve developer experience (DevX) for our clients.
  • Hands-on Engineering: Write clean, production-ready code while simultaneously establishing robust DevOps pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated testing strategies.
  • Drive the AI-Native Mission: Actively use, experiment with, and champion AI-assisted development tools. You will help clients understand how to safely and effectively integrate AI into their engineering workflows.

About you (ideally):

  • The Technical Foundation: A strong background in Software Engineering, which evolved naturally into DevOps, Test Automation, and ultimately Cloud/Platform Engineering.
  • The Stack: Proficient in Python and TypeScript (Java is a strong plus).
  • The AI Flex: If you are an AI power-user who can rapidly adapt to new languages using AI assistance, we are highly flexible on your core language stack.
  • Platform Ecosystems: Hands-on experience with Spotify Backstage (or similar developer portals) is a massive advantage.
  • Cloud & DevOps: Deep knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP, alongside modern CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

The Consultant Mindset:

  • Spot-on Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You can explain complex cloud architecture to a Developer and business value to a stakeholder.
  • Versatility: You thrive in ambiguity and enjoy changing contexts. You see yourself as a problem-solver first, and a technologist second.
  • Commercial Acumen: Comfortable identifying new opportunities within existing client accounts and supporting pre-sales or discovery phase.

We hire based on expertise, potential and enthusiasm to make a difference, then we give you the tools and skills you need to create impact. This role is based in our UK&I region.

How to prepare for a job interview at GlobalLogic

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If GlobalLogic uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
