The client is a world-leading provider of telecommunication solutions to mobile & fixed network operators. GlobalLogic has a long and very successful partnership with this Company. GlobalLogic is building a team that will be responsible for a specific area – maintenance of products that are utilized by major US telecom operators.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience
- Good knowledge of IMS (log (IMS type 07 and Type 56FA) and ABEND analysis, DC Monitor (DFSUTR20), STROBE, Performance Analyzer, IMSASAP/GPAR, ability to read SYSUDUMPs, etc.)
- Performance tuning techniques: OS (z/OS), Database (IMS, DB2) with focus on IMS tuning
- Strong expertise in performance testing and tuning
- Strong technical QA experience
- Excellent skills in defining, documenting, and analyzing test strategy, test plan, test cases, and test results
- Excellent test case execution and troubleshooting skills
- Testing proficiency (release-specific testing, regression testing)
- Testing in a Waterfall environment
- Manual and automated testing (online and batch)
- Debugging skills and problem-solving abilities to proactively interpret test results, assess risks, and develop mitigations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work well across teams
- Strong analytical skills – understand business processes and issues from business users
- Good level of verbal and written communication in English
- Telecom Domain will be a plus
Job Responsibilities:
- Knowledge acquisition: learn assigned product to smallest details, become a good expert in the product
- Work closely with the Development team and other stakeholders to understand the project goals and requirements
- Performance Validation Plan and Performance Results documentation
- Benchmark and volume testing including execution of monitoring tools and database utilities and interpretation of results
- Analyze test results to determine performance impact (improvement/degradation)
- Develop tuning recommendations as needed
- Maintain and update performance test scripts as needed
- Execute performance tests as needed for client site problem determination/fix validation
- 3rd party software upgrade testing for performance impact assessment
- Perform system testing, regression testing, and performance testing
- New feature testing and assessment (as needed)
- Work as part of a team in the mainframe environment
- Be responsible for the quality of software product
- Develop and work with testing documentation
