In an era defined by data-driven transformation and applied AI, global enterprises require partners who can do more than maintain legacy infrastructure—they need visionary engineering leaders to design, scale, and operationalize the next generation of AI-enabled platforms, intelligence ecosystems, and modern data architectures.

As a Technical Programme Manager (Data & Intelligence Engineering) based in the UK, you will serve as the senior delivery authority accountable for the end-to-end execution of multi-million-pound data transformation initiatives across the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sectors.

You will operate within GlobalLogic’s high-impact leadership model, working in a strategic triad alongside a Client Partner/Sales Lead (commercial growth) and supported by Offshore Delivery Directors (operational execution). You are the primary delivery anchor ensuring technical integrity, operational scale, and commercial profitability.

You will serve as the trusted, technical “face of delivery” to C-suite client executives (CDOs, CIOs, CTOs). You will bridge the gap between complex enterprise data strategies—spanning Cloud Migrations, Data Mesh architectures, Real-Time Analytics, and Generative AI/MLOps pipelines—and precise execution across globally distributed engineering pods of 100+ people.

By pairing technical depth with executive gravitas, you will de-risk platform modernisation, ensure strict financial and regulatory governance (e.g., BCBS 239, DORA), drive referenceable client outcomes, and unlock measurable business value through intelligence engineering.

Requirements

  • Industry Leadership: 15+ years of experience in Digital Engineering or IT Consulting with strong Banking, Financial Services & Insurance experience.
  • Domain & Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of modern data stacks (Data Lakehouses, Data Mesh, Real-time Streaming, ETL/ELT pipelines) and AI/ML lifecycle management (MLOps, GenAI integration, Model Governance). Ability to challenge architectural patterns and supervise technical teams without acting as the hands-on architect.
  • Cloud & Platform Mastery: Expertise in overseeing enterprise-scale migrations, data warehousing, and analytics workloads across major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Data Governance & Compliance: Robust understanding of data security, lineage, privacy (GDPR, CCPA), and financial sector regulatory frameworks (BCBS 239, DORA, Basel standards) governing financial data engineering.
  • Programme & Delivery Leadership: 15+ years in Digital/Data Engineering or IT Consulting, with proven success leading complex, fixed-outcome programmes (£10M+ annual revenue) and managing distributed teams of 100+ across global delivery centers.
  • Agile Data Operations: Mastery of SDLC, DataOps, and MLOps practices to drive rapid iteration, continuous delivery of data products, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Commercial & Risk Rigour: Strong financial governance (P&L management, margin optimization, commercial risk mitigation) for complex client engagements.
  • Strategic Influence & Communication: High executive presence to bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution, serving as a trusted advisor to client C-suite stakeholders (CDO, CIO, CTO).
  • Value & Impact Orchestration: Ability to translate complex data engineering initiatives into measurable business outcomes, ROI, and core performance metrics.
  • Academic Background: Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field preferred.

Job responsibilities

  • Delivery & Technical Oversight: Drive the full lifecycle of complex data initiatives (Data Lakehouses, Data Mesh, Real-time Streaming, and ML/GenAI pipelines) from inception to production, ensuring alignment with GlobalLogic’s Delivery Framework and client governance.
  • Architecture & Technical Alignment: Bridge the gap between C-suite strategy and engineering pods. Interrogate data architecture decisions, oversee cloud platform deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP, Databricks, Snowflake), and ensure technical solutions scale reliably and securely.
  • Pre-Sales & Data Solutioning: Lead technical pre-sales engagements, architecting Statements of Work (SOWs) and solution proposals for complex data migration, platform modernization, and AI integration initiatives that are commercially sound and technically viable.
  • Data Quality & MLOps Governance: Establish rigorous standards for data quality, data lineage, automated testing, and MLOps/DataOps practices to guarantee model reliability and pipeline performance.
  • Programme Governance & Financial Rigour: Take full financial responsibility for large-scale data programmes (£10M+ annual revenue), optimizing team structures and scope execution to protect and grow delivery margins.
  • Risk & Technical Debt Management: Proactively identify systemic risks—such as data security vulnerabilities, pipeline performance bottlenecks, regulatory non-compliance, and technical debt—mitigating them through clear, metric-driven communication.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Data Ethics: Ensure all delivery frameworks adhere strictly to global data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA) and financial sector regulatory standards (BCBS 239, DORA, Basel frameworks).
  • Global Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Direct and empower distributed cross-functional teams (Data Engineers, Data Scientists, MLOps Engineers, Architects) of 100+ people across global delivery centers, tailoring operating models for maximum throughput.
  • C-Suite Advisory & Business Growth: Serve as the primary delivery escalation point for client C-suite stakeholders (CDO, CIO, CTO). Translate complex data capabilities into tangible business outcomes while identifying high-value expansion opportunities.
  • Engineering Culture & Mentorship: Build a high-performance culture around data engineering best practices, mentoring Project Managers and Technical Leads across the organization.
