We began our journey in 2016, by combining a diverse range of specialist information services companies, with decades of trusted customer relationships and deep sector specialisms. About Direct Data Solutions: Direct Data Solutions (DDS) is GlobalData's programmatic data delivery function, enabling clients to consume pharmaceutical intelligence directly into their own systems, workflows, and AI environments. DDS operates across multiple delivery channels – REST API, Snowflake data sharing, CRM integration, file transfer, and MCP (Model Context Protocol) – serving a client base ranging from global pharma companies to emerging biotech and CDMOs. As AI-native data consumption becomes the norm, DDS is at the forefront of GlobalData's strategy to evolve from a platform business to an embedded intelligence layer – powering client pipelines, AI agents, and decision systems with structured pharma data.
The role… We are creating this role to lead the commercial and technical evolution of DDS as AI-enabled data consumption becomes central to our clients’ operations. This is a senior, hybrid role spanning client solutioning, AI product strategy, and internal enablement – with the scope and trajectory of a future functional leadership position. The right candidate will be equally comfortable advising a VP of Commercial Analytics at a Top 10 pharma on how to integrate GlobalData datasets into their AI stack and working internally to ensure those datasets are technically ready, well‑documented, and systematically delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Solutions & Pre‑Sales: Act as the technical lead for client meetings, supporting pre‑sales, pilots and onboarding across APIs, MCP, Snowflake and CRM solutions. Translate client requirements into technical solutions, working closely with commercial and technical teams. Lead MCP pilots, create solution documentation and integration guides, and support complex client integrations.
- AI Data Strategy: Ensure pharmaceutical datasets are structured, documented and optimised for AI delivery through APIs, MCP and Snowflake. Partner with Research & Analytics and Product teams to improve data quality and shape future AI‑enabled products. Identify how AI tools and agents interact with datasets to enhance customer value.
- Internal AI Enablement: Develop internal AI tools, MCP configurations, templates and technical documentation to support client delivery. Collaborate with Research & Analytics to identify AI use cases and improve internal workflows through automation.
- Commercial & Strategic Support: Support AI‑focused commercial offerings, pricing models, proposals and sales materials. Represent GlobalData with clients, partners and at industry events focused on AI and data.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience: Hands‑on experience integrating structured data into AI applications, including LLMs, RAG architectures or agentic workflows. Strong knowledge of REST APIs, Snowflake or cloud data warehouses, and programmatic data delivery. Experience with MCP or similar AI frameworks (e.g. LangChain, Claude, OpenAI Assistants). Background in solutions engineering, technical consulting or pre‑sales with direct client engagement. Experience within pharmaceuticals or life sciences and an understanding of industry data requirements is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Python (or similar) for data integration and API interaction. Experience with JSON, OpenAPI specifications and structured data formats. Familiarity with MCP configuration, prompt engineering and evaluating LLM outputs. Knowledge of CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Veeva or HubSpot is advantageous.
Skills & Attributes: Commercially minded with the ability to translate technical solutions into client value. Strong communication skills, comfortable engaging both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Self‑motivated, organised and able to manage multiple priorities. Curious about emerging AI technologies with a collaborative approach to working across technical, product and commercial teams.
In addition to a rewarding career, we support our GlobalData colleagues with a range of benefits across health, finances, fitness, travel, tech and more. GlobalData believes strongly in the value of diversity and creating supportive, inclusive environments where our colleagues can succeed. As such, we are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. GlobalData is determined to ensure that no applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, age, disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation, marital status, race, or is disadvantaged by conditions or requirements which cannot be shown to be justifiable.
