We’re looking for a YouTube Channel Manager to join the Capital team. In this role, you’ll own how Capital and Capital Buzz’s video content performs on YouTube, shaping the strategy behind titles, thumbnails, publishing and optimisation. Working closely with Video Content Producers and Editors, you’ll use data, audience behaviour and platform trends to craft clickable packages, refine formats and grow returning audiences. From scroll-stopping thumbnails to retention insights and subscription growth, you’ll play a central role in building Capital’s YouTube presence in a competitive video landscape.

Key Responsibilities- Packaging & Optimisation (40%)
- Own the creation and optimisation of thumbnails and titles to maximise click-through rate and discoverability across Capital and Capital Buzz.
- Lead the SEO and metadata strategy across all uploads, ensuring videos are positioned to reach new and relevant audiences.
- Manage publishing strategy, scheduling and video positioning across both channels.
- Develop and maintain clear thumbnail and title standards that are consistent, on-brand and built to perform.
- Performance Analysis & Creative Feedback (35%)
- Analyse performance metrics including CTR, retention, average view duration and traffic sources to guide editorial and creative decisions.
- Provide clear, actionable feedback loops to producers and editors to improve format structure, cold opens and viewer engagement.
- Translate complex analytics into straightforward recommendations the wider team can act on quickly.
- Continuously test and iterate on packaging approaches, tracking what works and sharing learnings across the team.
- Channel Strategy & Growth (25%)
- Support channel launches and growth strategies, with a focus on developing audiences and encouraging subscriber behaviour.
- Monitor subscription performance and recommend tactics to convert viewers into returning audiences.
- Study competitor channels and platform trends to identify opportunities, benchmark performance and inform format development.
- Stay ahead of YouTube algorithm and platform changes, adapting strategy proactively to maintain and grow channel performance.
