Job Description
At Global, we think big, work hard, and never stand still. We’re the proud home of the best media and entertainment, driven by our talented and passionate people. Our mission? To make everyone’s day brighter—our Globallers, our audiences, our partners, and our communities. Whether we’re in the studio, building world-class technology, or securing record outdoor advertising partnerships, we make sure we’re doing it as a team.
Your new role
Are you a creative dynamo with a flair for design and an eye for detail? If you thrive in a fast-paced user-centric environment where your creativity and organisational skills are equally valued, this role is for you.
As a Product Designer at Global, you’ll wear multiple hats—combining your passion for brilliant user experiences with the ability to design simple end-to-end flows for complex problems. You’ll work with our most exciting and innovative products, driving initiatives on the roadmap from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Discovery & research (25%): You’ll dive into user behaviour, needs, and pain points through interviews, surveys, and all kinds of creative research. Your mission? Uncover golden insights that guide killer design decisions.
- Design (50%): This is your playground! You’ll craft intuitive interfaces, pixel-perfect visuals, and engaging user flows that are functional and stylish. From wireframes to high-fidelity mockups, you’ll turn complex ideas into beautiful, human-centered designs.
- Prototyping and user testing (25%): Time to bring ideas to life! You’ll build interactive prototypes, test them with real users, and iterate. Fail fast, learn faster—make sure what we build actually works for the people who matter most: our customers.
What You’ll Love About This Role
- Think Big: Every day is an opportunity to push boundaries, working across departments to bring fresh ideas to life.
- Own It: Take charge of projects from start to finish, delivering exceptional experiences across Global’s tech.
- Keep it Simple: Whether it’s a flow, screen, or microcopy, you always aim to remove the clutter, streamline the experience, and make the user journey feel effortless.
- Better Together: Collaborate with a dynamic team on advertising that span all our platforms—on-air, online, and more.
What Success Looks Like
In your first few months, you’ll have:
- Understand our customer’s and user’s needs, running discovery and research to truly empathise with their experience
- Sketch ideas and shape concepts for the big-ticket items on the product roadmap
- Learn the product inside out and implement quick wins
- Test and learn from your prototypes, taking feedback and optimising features to make them work harder and deliver more
- Delivered multiple projects, with your work shining across Global’s channels
- Collaborate with our tech and commercial teams, making yourself known as a design expert and helping to build a brilliant culture to work in
What You’ll Need
- UX & UI design expertise – You’ve got a strong grasp of human-centered design, visual hierarchy, and layout, plus you know your way around Figma.
- User research – Comfortable supporting interviews, usability tests, and making sense of user data to inform design decisions.
- Prototyping – Whether it’s low-fi wireframes or real, coded and clickable demos, you know how to bring ideas to life quickly.
- Design systems – You understand how to use and contribute to design systems for consistency and efficiency.
- Cross-functional collaboration – Experience working closely with PMs, engineers, and other teams to ship great products.
- Feedback friendly – Able to give and receive constructive critique like a champ (and know when to push back or lean in).
- Optimistic problem solver – You see design challenges as puzzles waiting to be cracked (with style) and collaborate brilliantly with your team to make it happen
