Your Role:
We are looking for a Senior Producer for Global’s flagship sports podcast, presented by Gabby Logan and Mark Chapman. You will be an outstanding journalist with a proven track record of producing a high profile national daily sports programme, fixing high‑profile interviews, arranging access to locations, events, and setting up special programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Booking & Outside Broadcasts (20%): You will be responsible for fixing contributors and high‑profile interviewees, and setting up outside broadcasts.
- Editorial Ideas & Story Development (20%): You will be encouraged to bring innovative and ambitious ideas for stories, guests, features and episodes, that set this podcast apart from the crowd.
- On-the-Road Production Support (10%): We will be taking the podcast on the road for big events or when stories break, so last‑minute travel may be required.
- Reactive Content Delivery (15%): This is a reactive podcast so you will need to be able to spring into action at very short notice and think on your feet to generate content quickly.
- Short‑Form & Social Content Creation (10%): To generate additional short form or social media content that will drive audience to the podcast.
- Cross‑Team Production Coordination (15%): Work with internal collaborators and the podcast project management team to ensure effective production, promotion and marketing of podcast content.
- Audio Editing & Deadline Delivery (10%): Be experienced on Adobe Audition and comfortable editing audio on a tight deadline and under pressure.
- Cross‑Show Working: Up To Speed (10%): In addition to your core responsibilities on The Sports Agents, this role may also require you to work across Up To Speed, Global’s dedicated Formula 1 podcast.

What You’ll Need
- A couple of years’ experience producing a daily sports programme with knowledge and an interest in UK and international sports news.
- A track record in planning or as a guest booker.
- In‑depth knowledge and understanding of sports news, but also broader cultural reference points, including Formula One.
- A high level of creativity and imagination in audio content creation, and proficiency with audio editing software Adobe Audition.
- Experience of producing outside broadcasts / in the field.
- Sound editorial judgment and knowledge of media law.
- An excellent contacts’ book which leads to a diverse range of guest and story ideas.
- Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to deliver high quality output to deadline.
- Experience of working with high profile talent.
- A great team player.
- Experience of working in a breaking news environment with fast turnarounds and tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work across a range of stories with an up‑to‑date understanding of diversity and inclusivity.
- A knowledge of the current podcasting world including industry trends.
