Your Role: As Executive Producer for The News Agents Podcast at Global, you will lead the editorial, creative, and operational delivery of one of the most influential daily news podcasts in the market, ensuring it remains agenda-setting, distinctive, and must-listen.

You’ll oversee the end-to-end production of the podcast, from editorial planning and talent management to day-to-day workflow management and leading the post-production edit process. You’ll combine first-rate editorial judgement with outstanding production skills, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of how audiences consume news across audio, video, social, and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Show Production (50%): Lead the day-to-day editorial and production of The News Agents, ensuring every episode is timely, original and engaging. Work closely with hosts, producers and newsroom teams to shape stories, guests and coverage, while maintaining the highest editorial, legal and compliance standards. Oversee post-production and ensure consistently high-quality output.
  • Strategy & Planning (30%): Build strong relationships with presenters and work closely with the Editor and Digital Editor to plan key coverage and shape the show’s direction. Use audience data and listener insight to inform decisions and identify opportunities to grow reach, engagement and impact across platforms.
  • Outside Broadcasts (20%): Plan and lead outside broadcasts, major news events and on-location recordings. Coordinate editorial, production and technical teams to ensure smooth delivery, manage risk and compliance, and maintain the podcast’s editorial and production standards.

What You’ll Need

  • Significant experience in senior audio, podcast, radio, or newsroom production roles.
  • A proven track record of leading successful news, current affairs, or speech-based programming.
  • Exceptional editorial judgement and a strong understanding of the news agenda.
  • Experience managing presenters and talent and leading production teams in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong scripting, story development, interviewing, and editorial planning skills.
  • Excellent organisational and decision-making skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience using audience data and performance metrics to shape content strategy.
  • A strong understanding of media law, compliance, and editorial standards.
  • The ability to work confidently and make sound editorial decisions in a fast-paced, constantly evolving news environment.
