The role:
Global X ETFs Europe is seeking a highly motivated professional to join the Portfolio Management team and assist in managing our range of UCITS ETFs. The Portfolio Manager will work closely with the Head of Portfolio Management to oversee 35+ UCITS ETF portfolios, representing approximately $2 billion AUM and predominantly invested in global equity markets. Additionally, the role will involve collaboration with the Product Development team on fund launches, supporting the Capital Markets team in primary and secondary market activities, and leading infrastructure improvements for portfolio management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensuring funds track their underlying indices while adhering to regulatory restrictions and constraints
- Adding value through pragmatic and risk-controlled investment decisions
- Managing fund tracking errors and overseeing the daily operations of UCITS ETFs
- Implementing corporate actions and executing scheduled and ad hoc fund rebalances
- Collaborating with trading to determine optimal execution strategies
- Evaluating new product initiatives and refining the operational framework for portfolio management
- Developing quantitative tools for portfolio construction and risk management
- Supporting other Portfolio Managers in the daily management of UCITS ETFs
- Calculating and attributing tracking differences on a daily and periodic basis
- Working closely with internal and external operations teams to enhance the operating model
- Performing data analyses to support internal reporting and sales efforts
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Degree required, with a preference for CFA Charterholders or candidates
- Minimum 5 years of experience in UCITS ETF management
- Expertise in index methodologies
- Strong background in portfolio construction and risk management
- In-depth knowledge of a broad range of investment vehicles and delta-one products
- Trading experience is a plus
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
- Proficiency in programming tools such as Python, SQL, and VBA is a plus
- Ability to lead projects with strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to organise and manage multiple tasks under high-pressure conditions
- Strict adherence to processes and protocols
- Expert knowledge of UCITS ETF microstructure, PCF basket construction, creation/redemption processes, global custody, and fund accounting
- A positive contributor to a culture of professionalism and collaboration
