Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)

West London | Up to £35,000 DOE | Full-Time | Permanent

Are you an RVN looking to develop your nursing skills in a beautiful independent clinic with access to advanced hospital facilities, complex cases and a genuinely supportive team?

GVC are assisting a fantastic independent veterinary clinic with the recruitment of a permanent, full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly, highly skilled team, based predominantly at their Chiswick clinic, with flexibility to work at their hospital site in Fulham.

This is a brilliant opportunity to work across both first-opinion practice and a 24/7 hospital environment, gaining exposure to advanced procedures, visiting specialists and a varied clinical caseload.

The Role

You’ll be joining a team that values its nurses, encourages clinical development and is passionate about providing exceptional care to pets and their owners.

Working 40 hours per week, you’ll be involved in a varied nursing role, with the opportunity to develop your skills across a range of clinical areas.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Anaesthesia, with full training provided to support advanced anaesthetic care.

  • Inpatient nursing, including digital patient monitoring and developing care plans.

  • Dentistry, including full-mouth dental radiographs, scaling and polishing, with training provided.

  • Radiography and CT scanning.

  • Using and maintaining IDEXX in-house analysers.

  • Patient admissions and nurse consultations.

  • Supporting the care of complex cases alongside experienced colleagues and visiting specialists.

Experience in orthopaedic surgical nursing, chemotherapy, endoscopy, capnography, ECG or ventilator monitoring would be beneficial, but training can be provided.

About You

We’re looking for an enthusiastic RVN who takes pride in delivering excellent patient care and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.

You’ll ideally be:

  • A qualified and RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse.

  • Passionate about animal welfare and delivering exceptional clinical standards.

  • A confident communicator who enjoys working closely with colleagues.

  • Organised, adaptable and able to manage a varied workload.

  • Kind, compassionate and positive, with a good sense of humour.

  • Keen to learn, develop and make the most of new clinical opportunities.

Hours & Weekend Rota

  • 40 hours per week, with 10-hour shifts and a 45-minute daily break.

  • Shifts can fall between 7:30am and 8:00pm, across seven days.

  • A reasonable 1:4 Saturday and 1:8 Sunday rota.

  • Shorter working weeks before or after weekends worked.

  • Predominantly daytime nursing, with a fully staffed night team in place.

  • Flexibility to work across both Chiswick and Fulham, including Sunday ECC shifts at the hospital.

  • Occasional out-of-hours cover may be required for exceptional circumstances.

What’s on Offer?

  • Salary of up to £35,000 DOE.

  • £1,500 annual CPD allowance plus three paid CPD days.

  • RCVS registration fees paid.

  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.

  • Birthday off when it falls on a weekday.

  • Additional annual leave through a loyalty scheme, increasing to a maximum of 30 days per year.

  • Paid overtime and TOIL.

  • Contributions towards routine healthcare, including dental and optical appointments.

  • Discounted veterinary services and pet food for your own pets.

  • Cycle to Work scheme.

  • Access to visiting specialists and opportunities to gain experience with advanced procedures and complex cases.

  • A supportive environment that genuinely invests in your professional development.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This independent veterinary team has built a strong reputation for high standards of care, combining the personal feel of a family vet with the facilities and expertise of a 24/7 hospital.

You’ll have the opportunity to broaden your clinical experience, work alongside advanced certificate holders and develop your nursing skills in an environment where your contribution is valued.
