Veterinary Surgeon Medicine-Focused Role

North West London | 4-Day Week | 40 Hours | £1,500 CPD Allowance

Love getting to the bottom of a challenging medical case?
Looking for excellent diagnostic facilities, an interesting caseload and a supportive team, without the demands of working in a 24-hour hospital?

GVC are assisting an established veterinary practice in North West London with the recruitment of an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly, three-vet team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet with a passion for internal medicine, diagnostic investigations and ultrasonography. Whether you want to focus predominantly on medicine or enjoy a varied role incorporating surgery, you’ll have the support, facilities and clinical freedom to develop your interests.

The Role

  • Full-time position working 40 hours over 4 days
  • A varied and rewarding caseload, including complex medical cases and second opinions
  • Opportunities to investigate challenging presentations and follow cases through
  • Scope to develop a particular interest in internal medicine, diagnostics and ultrasonography
  • A mix of consulting, diagnostic workups and surgery, depending on your interests
  • Access to advanced diagnostic and referral facilities when cases require further investigation
  • A supportive team that values high clinical standards, continuity of care and excellent client relationships

The Practice

Originally established in 2019, this thriving clinic has grown into a busy, well-established practice with a loyal client base and a genuinely interesting caseload.

Although a first-opinion practice, the clinical work offers something of a hospital feel, with a high volume of medical investigations, complex cases and second opinions.

You’ll benefit from excellent clinical equipment, including:

  • MyLab Fox ultrasound machine
  • Full dental facilities, including dental radiography
  • Modern in-house laboratory equipment, including Zoetis Imagyst
  • Patient-monitoring equipment
  • Access to CT and MRI facilities
  • Access to endoscopic and laparoscopic equipment through wider clinical facilities

The practice also benefits from access to a nearby 24-hour hospital for advanced procedures, referral support and cases requiring additional facilities, without being open overnight itself.

About You

  • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with MRCVS registration
  • At least 4 years’ post-qualification experience
  • A genuine interest in clinical medicine and diagnostic investigations
  • Confident managing medical cases and developing tailored treatment plans
  • A team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and building strong client relationships
  • Keen to maintain high clinical standards and continue developing professionally

Working Pattern

  • 40 hours per week across 4 days
  • Either one full weekend in six at a 24-hour hospital, or one Saturday in three on a two-clinic rota

What’s on Offer?

Health & Wellbeing

  • Private Medical Insurance
  • 24/7 counselling and wellbeing support

Annual Leave

  • 5 weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service

Learning & Development
