Surgical Veterinary Surgeon

Battersea, South West London

Up to £75,000 DOE | 4-Day Week | 1 in 6 Weekends | Certificate Support | Visa Sponsorship Available

Global Veterinary Careers (GVC) are assisting a well-established small animal practice in Battersea with the recruitment of a Surgical Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team.

If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely develop your surgical skills while still enjoying the variety of first-opinion practice, this could be the ideal opportunity.

This practice offers something that's becoming increasingly difficult to find across London GP practices a varied caseload, continuity with clients, dedicated surgical time, and the clinical freedom to develop your own interests within a collaborative team.

Whether you're already confident in surgery or looking to further advance your surgical career, you'll be supported with excellent CPD, funded certificates and clear opportunities for progression.

The Practice

Situated just minutes from Battersea Park and Clapham Junction, this modern, well-equipped practice has built a loyal client base and enjoys an excellent reputation within the local community.

You’ll be joining a supportive team consisting of:

  • 2 experienced Veterinary Surgeons
  • Graduate Veterinary Surgeon
  • Skilled RVN team
  • Dedicated client care and support staff

The practice prides itself on high clinical standards, collaborative working and providing genuine continuity of care for both clients and patients.

Unlike many London GP practices, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and grow your own surgical caseload rather than referring routine procedures elsewhere.

The Role

This is a true GP and surgical position, offering an excellent balance of consulting, diagnostics and surgery.

You’ll have the autonomy to manage your own cases while benefiting from the support of an experienced and collaborative team.

What's on Offer

  • Salary up to £75,000 DOE
  • 4-day working week
  • Part-time applications considered
  • 1 in 6 weekend rota
  • Excellent surgical caseload with opportunities to develop further
  • Modern, fully equipped practice
  • Loyal and established client base
  • Fantastic South West London location

Career Development

The practice is committed to investing in your future, offering:

  • £1,500 CPD allowance
  • Generous certificate funding
  • Access to advanced clinical communities and referral support
  • Structured career progression
  • Ongoing mentoring and clinical support

Benefits

Health & Wellbeing

  • Private Medical Insurance
  • 24/7 wellbeing and counselling support

Annual Leave

  • 5 weeks' annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Holiday allowance increasing with length of service
  • Sabbatical opportunities

Professional Support

  • RCVS, VDS and BVA fees paid
  • Visa sponsorship available
  • Relocation support

About You

Whether you’re already an experienced surgical vet or a GP vet looking to significantly increase your surgical caseload, you’ll be joining a practice that actively encourages professional development and clinical progression.

If you’re looking for a role where you can build your surgical expertise, enjoy a varied caseload and work within a genuinely supportive team, we’d love to hear from you.
