I’m working with a fantastic small animal practice in Tamworth, Staffordshire that is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to step into a Lead Vet role. This is a rare opportunity to join a stable, supportive team while having genuine autonomy to influence clinical standards and help shape the future of the practice, especially with a full refurbishment and rebrand coming soon. This role offers the perfect balance of clinical leadership and hands-on veterinary work. You’ll be supported by an experienced Practice Manager and owners, allowing you to focus on delivering excellent patient care, mentoring colleagues, and developing your own clinical interests, particularly if you have a surgical bias. Partnership opportunities are also available for the right candidate, offering a genuine pathway to practice ownership.

Location – Staffordshire Tamworth is a thriving market town offering the best of both worlds - affordable living, beautiful countryside, and excellent transport links. You’ll be within easy reach of Birmingham, the Peak District, and major motorway networks, making it ideal whether you enjoy city life, outdoor activities, or a quieter pace of living.

The Role:

  • Lead and support a strong, experienced clinical team
  • Deliver high-quality surgical and medical care
  • Mentor and develop junior veterinary surgeons
  • Influence clinical standards and practice direction
  • Enjoy clinical freedom and autonomy

Work-Life Balance:

  • 4 days per week
  • 1 in 3 Saturdays
  • No Sundays
  • No out-of-hours
  • Part-time options considered

Salary & Benefits:

  • Up to £80,000 salary (FTE, DOE)
  • Certificate and CPD support fully encouraged
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
