A well-established first opinion small animal practice in a sought-after South West London riverside location is seeking a part-time Senior Veterinary Surgeon to support the continued growth and development of the clinic.

The practice is entering a new phase of development, with recruitment underway for a senior Registered Veterinary Nurse, creating a genuine opportunity to help shape the future direction and culture of the team.

The Role

Working Pattern

  • Monday, Thursday and Friday
  • Shared Monday crossover with the associate vet
  • 1:3 branch Saturdays
  • 1:10 hospital Sundays
  • 1 bank holiday per year
  • No on-call requirements

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Vet (working collaboratively with the Senior RVN), responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality consultations and evidence-based treatment plans
  • Performing routine surgical procedures within personal competence and in line with practice capabilities
  • Referring complex cases appropriately to the supporting hospital
  • Overseeing the consulting and surgical diary
  • Supervising prescription management processes in accordance with company policy
  • Supporting site-level inductions for new colleagues and locums
  • Leading branch meetings and ensuring follow-through on actions
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive clinical records
  • Fostering a collaborative, respectful team culture

Support & Development

You will receive:

Salary & Benefits

Salary range: £53,120 – £70,550 (part-time, including weekend rotation)
Equivalent full-time salary: £64,000 – £85,000 (40-hour week)
6.6 weeks annual leave (pro rata, inclusive of bank holidays)
Generous relocation support (where applicable)
Up to £2,000 CPD allowance annually plus up to 5 days’ paid CPD leave (pro rata)
