My client in North London is an independent practice who are seeking an experienced and confident Head Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy, well-established first-opinion small animal practice. This is a leadership role within a supportive, community-focused team where clinical autonomy and professional development are encouraged.
The practice is fully equipped with a comprehensive in-house diagnostic and surgical setup, including a full IDEXX laboratory, digital X-ray with dental capabilities, ultrasound, endoscopy, tonometry, microscopy, and advanced urinalysis systems. We also undertake a range of orthopaedic procedures on site and benefit from regular support from visiting ophthalmology and imaging specialists.
This role would suit a vet with strong surgical ability, excellent clinical judgement, and confident client communication skills. A genuine interest in developing clinical standards, supporting colleagues, and contributing to the continued growth of the practice is essential.
As the role is supported by an on-site Practice Manager, administrative burden is minimal. However, the position does involve participation in key clinical and operational decisions, including some HR input, offering the opportunity to meaningfully influence the direction of the practice.
They are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a community practice, building long-term client relationships, and getting involved in local engagement and outreach. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious clinician looking to step into or continue a senior role within a progressive and well-supported environment.
