The Role
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality patient and client care, working closely with the Veterinary Surgeons and wider practice team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Veterinary Surgeons with surgeries and procedures
- Completing pre- and post-operative patient care
- Running nurse-led consultations
- Carrying out Schedule 3 procedures where appropriate
- Monitoring patients and providing high-quality nursing care
- Managing patient admissions and discharges
- Dispensing and checking medication
- Supporting patient transfers to out-of-hours or enhanced care services where required
- Maintaining high clinical and regulatory standards
- Helping coordinate the day-to-day running of the practice
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues
About the Practice
You’ll be joining a well-established small animal practice with a friendly and collaborative team. The practice benefits from support from a nearby 24-hour veterinary hospital, as well as a wider network of neighbouring practices.
The team works closely together to manage cases, provide excellent patient care and support each other’s professional development.
The practice is well equipped with:
- Digital X-ray
- Dental X-ray
- Ultrasound
- In-house laboratory
- Dedicated cat and dog waiting areas
- Two consulting rooms
The practice is also conveniently located around a 10-minute walk from the local train station, with shops and amenities nearby.
About You
We’re looking for an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse who is passionate about delivering excellent patient and client care.
You’ll ideally have:
- RCVS registration
- Experience working within a small animal veterinary practice
- Strong patient care and nursing skills
- Experience supporting nurse consultations
- Confidence working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- A proactive approach to professional development
- An interest in supporting and mentoring colleagues

Salary: £30,500 – £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
