About the Practice

This modern Bristol hospital is part of a long-established veterinary organisation providing essential care for pets whose owners may be experiencing financial hardship. You’ll be joining a supportive, forward-thinking clinical team with a strong emphasis on collaboration, case discussion and continuous learning. The hospital is fully equipped to support a wide and varied caseload, including:

  • Separate dog and cat kennelling facilities
  • In-house radiography and ultrasound
  • Endoscopy services
  • Piped gases
  • Extensive orthopaedic equipment

The Role

This is a full-time permanent position (37.5 hours per week), with flexible working options available to support work-life balance. As Senior Veterinary Surgeon, you will take a leading role in clinical decision-making, supporting both complex cases and the development of the wider veterinary team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on complex medical and surgical cases and providing second opinions
  • Delivering clear, compassionate communication with clients
  • Mentoring and supporting veterinary colleagues and developing clinical confidence within the team
  • Contributing to clinical governance and continuous improvement
  • Supporting innovation and new ways of working aligned to the organisation’s mission

About You

You’ll be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with strong clinical judgement, confidence in decision-making, and a calm, pragmatic approach under pressure. You will also be:
