Veterinary Surgeon – Surgical Bias (Soft Tissue)

GVC are assisting a well-established, modern small animal practice in South Yorkshire that is looking to welcome an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in soft tissue surgery. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, customer-focused vet who enjoys delivering high clinical standards within a supportive, team-driven environment.

The practice is purpose-built and well equipped, offering a varied and interesting caseload and a collaborative team where individual clinical interests are encouraged and supported.

The Role

  • Deliver high-quality preventive, medical and surgical care
  • Perform a wide range of soft tissue surgical procedures
  • Manage and work up medical and surgical cases confidently
  • Build strong relationships with clients through excellent communication
  • Work closely with a supportive clinical and non-clinical team
  • Contribute positively to team culture and ongoing clinical standards

The Ideal Candidate

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • Experienced in soft tissue surgery (certificate not required)
  • Confident, motivated and customer-focused
  • Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset
  • Passionate about pet wellbeing and high clinical standards

The Team & Culture

The team currently consists of 3 Veterinary Surgeons and 4 RVNs, creating a supportive and collaborative working environment. Within the team, one Veterinary Surgeon has a strong clinical interest in exotics, while another is developing her diagnostic imaging skills, ensuring a varied and interesting caseload with excellent learning opportunities.

The practice takes real pride in the training and support provided to students, with several previous students having successfully progressed into permanent roles following qualification. There is a strong focus on identifying skill gaps and supporting development, with CPD actively encouraged and embedded across all levels of the practice.
