Veterinary Surgeon – Full-Time / All-Rounder

Norfolk, UK | Permanent | Salary From £45K + £5K night allowance

Are you an experienced, confident all-round veterinary surgeon looking for a supportive, multi-site practice with a varied caseload? GVC is assisting a progressive practice in Norfolk that values clinical excellence, teamwork, and client care. With a taster of days and nights, hands-on surgery, and opportunities to work alongside certificate-holding colleagues, this is the perfect role for vets seeking variety, development, and top-tier facilities.

Facilities:

  • Main Hospital: 6 consult rooms, 2 sterile theatres, dental theatre, large prep area, split-level dog ward with 15 large walk-in kennels plus smaller units, spacious cat ward, isolation unit, secure patient walk-out options, 55-car parking, and team break-away areas.
  • Branch Practice: 4 consult rooms, 2 sterile theatres, dental theatre, large prep area, dog ward with 6 walk-in kennels, cat ward, isolation unit, secure patient walk-out area, team rest room, parking for ~30 cars.

Practice design & atmosphere: Both reception areas are designed for calm, positive client experiences—no pet shop clutter, soft lighting, secure cat tables, comfortable chairs, soothing music, and a warm, welcoming environment. The Hospital holds RCVS Small Animal Hospital accreditation; the practice holds RCVS General Practice accreditation.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Provide exceptional first-opinion medicine and surgery across both locations.
  • Deliver 5-star client service and compassionate care for patients.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including nurses, admin staff, and senior vets.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, contribute to audits, CPD, and practice improvements.
  • Support emergency care and inpatients during overnight shifts.
  • Mentor junior vets or veterinary students as appropriate.

About You:

  • Fully qualified veterinary surgeon confident in both consults and surgery.
  • Positive, resilient, and professional with excellent communication skills.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
  • Flexible and willing to work across locations, including nights (1:9 rotation) and weekends (1:5 rotation).
