GVC are assisting a respected independent small animal practice in the Wiltshire area that is seeking an ambitious Veterinary Surgeon ready to take the next step. This is a rare opportunity to combine hands-on clinical work with leadership responsibility, within a practice that genuinely values progression, autonomy, and clinical excellence.
With a busy medical and surgical caseload, strong nursing support, and a collaborative team culture, this role offers the platform to grow into a senior or leadership position while continuing to develop clinically.
The Role
This is a varied, rewarding position offering both clinical and leadership involvement, with the scope to tailor responsibilities around your strengths and interests. Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality medical and surgical care
- Performing routine and emergency surgical procedures
- Supporting and mentoring less experienced vets
- Contributing to clinical standards, protocols, and case discussions
- Leading by example in patient care and client communication
- Working closely with nursing and support teams to drive best practice
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and governance standards
- Engaging in CPD and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
This role is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon who feels ready to take ownership, influence clinical direction, and mentor others. You will ideally have:
- A recognised veterinary degree and RCVS registration
- Solid experience in small animal practice
- Confidence with routine surgery and sole charge
- A desire to move into leadership or a senior clinical role
