As the Director, Strategic Partnerships at GUS Medical Schools, your primary responsibility will be to drive strategic international collaborations and development of academic partnerships for GUS Medical & Veterinary Schools: SABA University School of Medicine (SABA), Medical University of the Americas (MUA), and St. Matthew's University (SMU).
Key Responsibilities:- International Academic Partnership Strategy: Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership at GUS Medical & Veterinary Schools to develop innovative academic partnerships. Develop and implement a comprehensive international academic partnership strategy and partnerships business opportunities that align with the goals and objectives of GUS Medical & Veterinary Schools. Identify and prioritize potential academic partnership opportunities that enhance the educational offerings, research capabilities, and overall reputation of GUS Medical & Veterinary Schools. Develop and implement profitable international partnerships models for institutional partnerships.
- Partner Identification and Outreach: Research and identify potential academic partners, including universities, research institutions, and healthcare organizations, that share complementary goals with GUS Medical & Veterinary Schools. Initiate and maintain contact with potential academic partners to explore collaboration opportunities, joint research projects, exchange programs, and other mutually beneficial initiatives.
- Collaboration Contract Negotiation and Management: Collaborate with legal and academic affairs teams to negotiate collaboration agreements and contracts with academic partners. Ensure that all academic partnerships adhere to regulatory requirements and academic standards while delivering value to all participating entities. Manage ongoing academic partnerships, monitor progress, and facilitate issue resolution when necessary.
- Relationship Building and Maintenance: Cultivate strong relationships with academic partners, faculty members, and administrative staff to foster a network of support and collaboration. Facilitate regular communication with academic partners to understand their needs and gather feedback on program efficacy and improvement opportunities. Deliver and support student applications from partner institutions ensuring consistent student application pipeline. Establish and maintain regular communication, including in-person visits, with established and new partner institutions.
- Market Analysis and Intelligence: Stay informed about academic and healthcare industry trends, changes in medical education, and advancements in medical technology. Utilize market intelligence to identify potential international academic partnership opportunities and areas for growth and improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, admissions, research, and administrative teams at GUS Medical & Veterinary Schools to align academic partnership activities with the overall institutional strategies. Support marketing efforts by promoting academic collaborations and partnership-related achievements. Support open house and info sessions by providing on-site interviews, pre-screening applications.
- Performance Tracking and Reporting: Develop metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of academic partnerships for GUS Medical & Veterinary Schools. Regularly report on the progress and outcomes of academic partnerships to senior management and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. MD degree and experience will be an asset.
- Proven experience in managing academic partnerships, strategic collaborations, or academic affairs within the medical education or healthcare industry.
- Strong understanding of the medical education landscape, academic research, and healthcare systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with academic partners and stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
- Results-oriented, with a track record of successful academic partnership development and implementation.
