Global Underwater Hub (GUH) is the leading trade and industry development body for the UK’s underwater sectors with a vision to transform the sector into one of the largest and fastest growing industries in the country, accelerating the energy transition to net zero, creating high value jobs, technology and exports. GUH represents the diverse range of businesses operating in the UK’s £9.2 billion underwater industry. We facilitate cross-collaboration and growth across the underwater industry, which comprises offshore energy, aquaculture, defence, telecoms and subsea minerals.
The primary focus of the Marketing Executive will be to support, coordinate and assist the marketing, communication and delivery of GUH core activities such as events, membership and market intelligence. The role will also focus on supporting the creation, delivery and implementation of the GUH marketing strategy and for delivering various marketing and communications activities that promote the GUH brand and value proposition to members, stakeholders and the underwater industry in the UK and internationally via social media, online forums, blogs and online directories. The role will also heavily support and aid the events team in the delivery of GUH organised events, in all their various formats.
Key Accountabilities:
- Brand; raise our profile across the UK and globally via social media, forums, blogs and online directories.
- Content Marketing: writing and proofreading creative copy, actively publish useful and relevant content including blogs, tweets and other social messaging.
- Campaigns: design and produce new sales campaign materials including videos, online promotions and incentives.
- Collateral; work with events, market intelligence and membership development teams to create product collateral.
- Email Marketing; create interesting member and wider industry email communications with a view to increasing engagement and participation across all sectors of the GUH audience.
- Reporting: on the success of our informative and engaging marketing channels, create reports for management reporting.
- External events; plan and execute our attendance/exhibition at various tradeshows, exhibitions and other events.
- GUH events; support the events team with the planning and delivery of GUH organised events including promotion and event execution.
- Member Communications: create informative newsletters for existing members, working with membership development to gather content, organise, review and publish.
- Testimonials / Case Studies; work to acquire, and/or interview members to collect the details and draft for review.
- PR: able to create interesting and exciting campaigns and tell stories, draft press releases, research relevant journalists and organisations that would be interested in working with us and publishing our content.
- Photography & Videos; ensure the world knows what we do.
- Creativity: brief and manage our in-house designer to create display banners and posters, adverts, and other creative applications for use digitally and in print format as well as create smaller design projects yourself using the likes of Canva.
- Third Parties; assist with managing our trusted third-party designers, printers, film producers and photographers to create award winning materials.

Person specification
- Demonstrable relevant experience in a B2B marketing communications role.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in a marketing or communication related discipline.
- Excellent demonstrable commercial acumen and relationship-building skills.
- Active / relevant experience of using social media channels such as LinkedIn, X / Twitter, YouTube, etc.
- Exposure to underwater business environments.
- Knowledge of and experience of working in and/or with external marketing and communications service providers.
- Proven ability to interact and develop respect with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and senior level management.
Specific training / specialist skills
- High IT literacy; able to pick up and learn new social media and software tools quickly.
- Strong written and verbal skills, with practical experience of writing marketing content.
- Demonstrable skills and experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Canva or equivalent.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and deliver assigned projects and results within set timescales.
- Demonstrable experience to include setting up social media campaigns using management tools and running analytics reports.
