Location: Didcot Fully Remote, with occasional site visits

The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Technical Support Consultant to join their established team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Oracle PL/SQL and Microsoft .NET experience who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with customers, and bridging the gap between technical and business requirements.
You will work within a combined support and development environment , working closely with the Operations and Product Directors to investigate and resolve customer issues, develop database solutions, and support ongoing product enhancements.
About the Company
Our client is a UK-based developer of specialist Dispute Management and Cash Collections software . With more than 24 years' experience successfully implementing systems, they have delivered significant benefits to a portfolio of clients that includes many well-known blue-chip organisations.
Their core software is developed using Appeon PowerBuilder and Microsoft .NET , running on Oracle and Tibero databases .
Key Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- 3+ years' experience with Oracle PL/SQL , including database development and design.
- Strong logical and analytical problem-solving skills .
- A customer-focused approach, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly and concisely to clients.
- 1+ years' Microsoft .NET development experience , ideally with VB.NET or C#, including web services and XML.
- Knowledge or understanding of ERP, Accounts Receivable and/or Credit Management systems.
- Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to clearly document processes and technical information.
- The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- A confident, professional telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
As a Technical Support Consultant, you will:
- Work within the company's support and development environment, collaborating closely with the Operations Director.
- Respond to incoming customer emails and calls, investigating and resolving reported technical issues.
- Use your application and database expertise to diagnose problems and deliver effective solutions.
- Develop new PL/SQL procedures and packages to enhance the functionality and customer experience of the software.
- Work closely with the Product Director to translate new product requirements into clear technical specifications for the development team.
- Undertake smaller development changes and enhancements using your Microsoft .NET skills where required.
- Build strong relationships with customers and provide a high standard of technical support.
- Clearly document solutions, processes and technical requirements to support both customers and internal teams.
