Most Heads of IT Service Delivery roles are really just “keep the lights on and attend meetings” jobs dressed up with a longer title. This one’s a bit different. My client needs someone to become the operational face of IT across the business. Someone who can take ownership of service delivery, build trust with stakeholders, and bring a bit more structure and accountability into the support function.
This is a role in a multi-site environment and you’ll be leading both the Service Desk and Regional Engineering teams, with two direct reports sitting underneath you. There’s a decent team already in place. What they need now is someone who can step in, provide leadership, improve visibility across IT operations, and help ensure the business feels supported by IT rather than frustrated by it.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the IT Service Delivery function across support desk and regional engineering teams
- Acting as the go-to IT contact for the wider business
- Managing operational performance, SLAs, KPIs, and service improvements
- Supporting resource planning and workload management across teams
- Leading major incident management and service governance activities
- Working closely with suppliers and third parties to ensure service standards are met
What you’ll need to apply:
- Strong experience leading IT Service Delivery or Support functions
- Experience managing Service Desk and/or Field Engineering teams
- Someone commercially aware who can operate confidently with stakeholders across the business
- Good understanding of ITIL and service management best practice
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving, multi-site environments
- Someone proactive who’s happy taking ownership rather than waiting to be asked
