Job Description

Some transformation jobs start with a strategy.

This one starts a bit earlier than that.

What are we actually trying to change?

Why are we changing it?

What will good look like?

And how do we make sure we don't spend the next two years and several million quid discovering we answered the wrong question?

I'm working with a digital transformation consultancy looking for an experienced Business Transformation Director to help its clients answer exactly those sorts of questions.

You'll work with senior and C-suite stakeholders at the front end of complex transformation programmes, helping shape the vision, operating model, business case and roadmap before connecting all of that through to the people who ultimately have to make the change work.

It's broad by design.

One engagement might have you facilitating an executive workshop and shaping a new operating model.

Another could see you reviewing a transformation that's already underway, working out whether the expected benefits are actually going to materialise and challenging the programme where they aren't.

You'll sit across business transformation, organisational design, change, business analysis and learning, bringing the various pieces together rather than disappearing down one particular rabbit hole.

They're looking for someone with significant management consulting experience who is comfortable advising, influencing and occasionally challenging people with considerably more impressive job titles than their own.

You'll probably have 10+ years behind you and a strong grounding in areas like transformation strategy, operating models, organisational design, benefits realisation and transformation governance.

You'll also help develop other consultants, shape propositions and get involved in bids and client conversations.

And there's an important distinction here

There are no individual sales targets.

Yes, you'll be commercially aware. Yes, you'll spot opportunities and help grow client relationships. But you haven't secretly applied for a sales job wearing a transformation hat.

The role is remote-first, with the expectation that you'll spend time in the London office and at client sites around the UK when it makes sense.

Package is £80,000–£110,000 + bonus and benefits, depending on experience.

If you're a senior transformation consultant who loves the thinking, the problem solving and the client work…and still actually wants to do some consulting…. I'd love to hear from you.
