Be honest, a lot of Phase Zero work ends up as a room full of people nodding at PowerPoint slides before somebody produces a document confirming what everyone already knew.

This isn't that.

My client has already completed some initial discovery work and has a pretty clear view of where they think they want to go. What they need now is an experienced SAP Finance Architect to come in, challenge assumptions, validate the proposed approach, and help shape the next phase of the journey.

You'll also play a key role in helping select the Systems Integrator that will ultimately deliver the programme, so this is as much about providing strategic guidance as it is SAP expertise.

What you'll be doing:

  • Validating the proposed SAP Finance approach and target architecture
  • Providing expert guidance across SAP Finance processes and capabilities
  • Supporting vendor and Systems Integrator selection activities
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders to shape the future roadmap
  • Leading a small team of consultants delivering the assessment
  • Providing independent challenge and recommendations where needed

What you'll need to apply:

  • Strong SAP Finance architecture and solution design experience
  • Experience supporting SAP transformation programmes through discovery, assessment, or Phase Zero activities
  • Ability to engage credibly with senior business and technology stakeholders
  • Experience evaluating implementation approaches and SI partners
  • Someone comfortable balancing strategic thinking with practical delivery

The contract runs through to the end of September and equates to approximately 28 days of work across the engagement. My client are flexible around how those days are delivered, meaning it could work well alongside another assignment.

Day rate is around £650 per day outside IR35.
