This is an advert for a Fundraising and Partnerships Manager.

And like all adverts for Fundraising and Partnerships Managers, I’m going to kick mine off with a story.

(What do you mean they don’t all start with stories?!?!? 🤯)

Once upon a time I was sitting in a coffee shop minding my own business when I may have accidentally‑on‑purpose overheard a conversation between two guys sitting at the table next to me.

Now it’s not in my nature to be nosy… but within five minutes I’d learnt what they did for work, and was soon offering up some ideas on how they might be able to land a new music instructor for their incredible charity, Together In Musical Expression, or T.I.M.E for short.

I was immediately struck by how much they cared about their first hire… the time, the thought, and the consideration they put into what they could offer whoever came on board. Who knew that a little over twelve months later I’d be here supporting them in their search for someone who will play a critical role in the next stage of their growth?

Since launching in 2020, the T.I.M.E team (don’t @ me Tony Robinson) have been on a mission to make music accessible to everyone. They’ve worked on a range of projects, breaking down barriers for people with additional needs, mental health challenges, and dementia, and even started an inclusive weekly nightclub.

As they continue to grow, they need someone to strengthen and expand the charity’s income stream. If you’re someone who loves building meaningful relationships, enjoys connecting with communities and companies, and thrives when raising awareness for a cause that genuinely changes lives, then this might be worth exploring.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Build and nurture relationships with community groups, businesses, trusts, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Develop and deliver a coordinated fundraising strategy.
• Raise the profile of the charity through thoughtful, well‑planned campaigns.
• Cultivate partnerships with relevant celebrity personalities, ambassadors, and public figures aligned with our mission.
• Plan and coordinate community fundraising initiatives and events.

And here’s the experience we\’re looking for:

• Fundraising, partnerships, or income generation for a charity or non‑profit.
• Writing successful funding applications and grant submissions.
• Understanding of community fundraising and corporate partnerships.
• Ability to work independently and proactively.
• Understanding of PR, ambassador engagement, or public profile‑raising.
• Experience working within small or growing charities.

There’s a base salary of £32–36,000 on offer, and T.I.M.E provide hybrid working as standard, with an expectation that you’ll be comfortable travelling to their offices in Leigh‑on‑Sea, Essex once or twice per week.
