The role: Global Talent 2020 are excited to be working with one of Edinburgh's leading Restaurant operators at their beautifully appointed venue in the heart of the city. This busy cosmopolitan venue is looking for a passionate Sous Chef for their quality focused restaurant operations. The Sous Chef role is part of a dedicated kitchen brigade, producing high level, fresh Italian influenced food menus across the main restaurant, in an upmarket part of the city at this award-winning venue.

The person: Our long-established client at Global Talent 2020 is looking for an existing Sous Chef talent in the kitchen or is open to interest from a proven Junior Sous, looking to step up to Sous level. Someone who will be always readily approachable, have a positive can-do mentality, be communicative, authoritative on culinary practices and food trends. While possessing sound leadership skills, they exhibit a desire to grow, as the business is ever evolving, and there will be continued career opportunities within the company.

The ideal Sous Chef candidate must have had prior experience of working in a volume food, high street restaurant background, to a high culinary level, specifically with fresh food/ingredients experience. You must be able to demonstrate good all-round culinary technical skills, whilst managing costs, labour costs, and Food GP%. Be someone that also enjoys training and developing others within the team and leading the brigade in the Head Chef's absence. All chef applicants will need to be able to demonstrate their technical abilities at interview stages. This is either for a person who prefers a 4 out of 7 rota, or 5 out of 7, 44 hours a week.
