The opportunity: Global Talent 2020 are proudly working with one of Scotland's award-winning, upmarket Restaurant and Bar operators. They are looking for a passionate F&B orientated Deputy General Manager for this prominent, beautifully positioned, popular all year-round venue near Edinburgh.

The role: Global Talent 2020's client will require the Deputy General Manager to support the venue General Manager and the business in leading the large teams across the site and sister seasonal pop-up. This well-appointed food and drink concept will require a Deputy General Manager candidate with sound hands-on operational floor experience. You will need to be very customer-facing and lead by example. Possessing an eye for detail, you should exhibit sound commercial nous, especially in a changing and challenging marketplace. You will manage the large staff complement across all front/back of house, kitchen, and bar areas as required. A great understanding of stock controls, cellar management, health & safety, training, and the development of others are pivotal for the role. First-class communication skills are also prerequisites for this diverse and fast-paced role.

The person: Our client at Global Talent 2020 is looking for a hands-on approach type of leadership, with a focused, well-organised mind. You should possess a positive attitude, be calm under pressure, and be driven to exceed commercially and across service level metrics. This is a multi-tasking, challenging role in an amazingly fast-paced environment, so it will need someone used to keeping their fingers on the pulse of an operation at all times. A quality understanding of all areas of volume bar and restaurant operations are key skill sets required by Global Talent 2020's client for this opportunity. The ideal Deputy General Manager candidate should possess first-class people skills, with right-first-time engagement with customers and colleagues alike. A good understanding of a P&L and costs is also desired, and this role would ideally suit a current Assistant Manager applicant looking to step up into a larger venue with added diverse leadership responsibilities.
