Global Talent 2020 are excited to be working with one of Edinburgh’s leading Restaurant operators at their beautifully appointed fine dining venue in a historic part of the city. This busy cosmopolitan venue is looking for a passionate Senior Sous Chef for their quality focused restaurant operations.
The Senior Sous Chef role is part of a dedicated Kitchen brigade, producing high-level, fresh Italian/Scottish influenced food menus across the main restaurant, with also exclusive use, and private dining facilities.
The person:
Our long-established client at Global Talent 2020, is looking for an existing Senior Sous Chef talent in the kitchen, or is open to interest from a proven Sous Chef looking to step up to the next level. Someone who will always be readily approachable, possess a positive can-do mentality, be communicative, authoritative on culinary practices and up to date on food trends. While possessing sound leadership skills, they exhibit a desire to grow to a future Head Chef, as the business is ever evolving, and there will be continued career opportunities within the company for the right individual.
The ideal Senior Sous Chef candidate must have had prior experience of working in a high-volume, high-street restaurant background, to a high culinary level, preferably with 1 Rosette level skills, specifically with fresh food/ingredients experience. You must be able to demonstrate good all-round culinary technical skills, whilst understanding of managing costs, especially labour costs, and food GP%. Ideally also be someone that whom enjoys training and developing others within the team and comfortable in leading the brigade in the Head Chefs absence.
All chef applicants will need to be able to demonstrate their technical abilities at interview stages.
