About the Role

Virgin Active is seeking four Swim Instructors to join its Family Activities Team. The role involves inspiring swimmers of all ages and abilities through engaging, high-quality lessons that build confidence, skills and a lifelong love of the water. The successful candidates will create a safe, supportive and enjoyable learning environment while delivering exceptional member experiences and contributing to the success of the swim programme. The position is offered on a zero-hours basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all poolside activities and scheduled swimming lessons are promoted effectively and delivered to the highest standard, creating an exceptional experience for members.
• Develop creative and innovative classes following the Swim England (ASA) national plan for Teaching Swimming.
• Provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all members within the pool and surrounding areas.
• Deliver great customer service by providing personal attention and care to all members.
• Accurately complete records for the function to track attendance and improvements in fitness, ensuring individual, team and department targets are consistently met.
• Work closely with Swim management to meet and exceed set targets and objectives, helping achieve commercial success within the department and wider Club team.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Swim England/ASA Level 2 in Teaching Swimming or STA Level 2 Certificate in Swimming Teaching.
• Exceptional communication skills and experience in a customer facing environment, able to respond appropriately and professionally to everyone in all manners, including face to face, over the phone and via email correspondence.
• Flexible, friendly and approachable, ready for an exciting challenge and able to connect with members and get on well with people from all walks of life.
