About the Role
This part-time role sits within the Operations Team and is 20 hours per week. It focuses on creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for members, ensuring the highest standards of poolside safety, cleanliness and member experience. The postholder will act as a trusted ambassador for the club, responding confidently to situations, maintaining operational excellence and delivering exceptional service every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of members in the pool and spa areas, taking responsibility for personal safety and that of others.
- Act consistently in a safe manner, completing safety checks and recording them accurately.
- Monitor water chemical levels and clean the water when appropriate.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all areas and adhere to Virgin Active’s high standards.
- Take responsibility for compliance with all mandatory training and health and safety requirements.
- Fulfil Duty Shifts when required, taking responsibility and accountability during the shift and controlling staffing and facility issues throughout the club.
- Act as a trusted ambassador for the club, responding confidently to situations and delivering exceptional service every day.
- Provide a friendly, calm and approachable presence, acting quickly and effectively at all times.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Current Lifeguard qualification and full registration.
- Qualification must be one of: IQL National Pool Qualification (RLSS), HABC Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding (RQF), or STA Professional Award for Pool Lifeguard (RQF).
Salary
- £12.71–£12.71 GBP
